Here you can find a description of how we plan and offer the exams (how often for each class, etc.)

We will now introduce examination weeks for you, to help you better organize exam dates and to assure timely announcement and fast grading! This is how it works:

- You get 3 chances to pass a class successfully if it is a LECT, PS or SE.
- Each teacher has the right to choose one of four examination modalities, which will be communicated to you during the first appointment of the class: oral exam, written exam, written essay, or presentations during class.
- For the written exams (only) we will offer examination weeks:
- - - WEEK 1: First chance to pass: in the end of the current semester (in which you attended the class)
- - - WEEK 2: Second chance: in the beginning of the following semester.
- - - WEEK 3: Third chance: in the end of the following semester.
- You are allowed to enter an examination multiple times (however, the grade of the last attempt will be your final grade) if you should fail one exam

It’s actually quite easy - here is an illustration:

The idea with the ‘examination week’ is that they have a clear and fixed position in the academic year. There will not be so many mix-ups or overlapping examination dates anymore (not for each semester – be careful that if you do exams from different semesters, e.g. B3 and B5, there might be overlaps!). If you ever have an overlapping other exam or appointment, you will now know the date of the next examination opportunity (in the beginning of the next semester, or at the end of the next semester).

The examination weeks also have another advantage: if you know in advance that you have three major exams in the winter term, you might organize those exams for 2 different examinations weeks (two major exams in week 1, and then the third exam in week 2). With the pre-organized examination weeks, you now know how much time you have to prepare for the exam, and you have more freedom to organize it in accordance with your personal schedule.

This gives you more autonomy, but also responsibility to not miss the 3rd chance! Additional examination opportunities will only be organized in exceptional cases – if there is the need of a 4th opportunity, please get in touch with our office.

(PS: The exam regulations you can find HERE at the moment, are out of date and will be updated very soon)
Wishing you good luck for your exams,
best wishes, your ELP staff

Hello Agnes,

exam week will be last of of June (and probably some exams will also reach into first week of July!),
the first preliminary schedule will be only on Friday, 4.4.2014.

Some teachers still need to announce their examination procedure, thats why a full schedule for all written exams in June/July 2014 can be expected around April 20.

We added an overview of the exam-list for this summer semester - but without any dates yet! We need another week to schedule them (so there is no overlap of B1 3rd dates, and B2 1st dates, etc.),
but now you can see how many written exams you will have in the end of June.

EXAMS will start around June 17 and reach until June 27.
We wanted to have the last exams until the end of June because we know some of you want to leave for holidays in the beginning of July already.

If however many of you prefer the exam weeks to go from
June 21 - July 2nd, then please let us know here (in the next days) and we could still organize to push the exams backwards a couple of days instead of starting on June 17.

Best wishes, KM
